One of the rarest LPs on the Japanese market is the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra recording of the Bruckner Symphony No. 4 as conducted by Takashi Asahina's son, Chitaru Asahina. The Japan Victor recording was released in 1982 and was quickly withdrawn, but as his father's fame grew, this recording became a true collectors item. Now, TOBU Recordings in Japan has issued this recording on CD. It is stated in the release notes that it was originally thought that the master of this recording was lost, but after a five year search, the digital master tape was discovered.
