This is the version of the Symphony No. 3 which many critics feel is the best of the lot. It also contains the coda to the Scherzo which is omitted from all the other versions.

This release brings Gerd Schaller's complete cycle of symphonies - in all the versions - closer to completion. The two remaining releases will take place next year:

Symphony No. 8 (version of 1890)
Symphony No. 9 (with a new Finale by Schaller)

Schaller has promised to perform some choral works as well and is considering an orchestration of the String Quintet and the shorter orchestral pieces. There is definitely more to come!
