CD - Recordings from the Reichs-Rundfunk-Gesellschaft (1940-1944)These recordings from the Reichs Rundfunk offer a glimpse into the recording activity afforded to the music of Anton Bruckner during the dark era of the Third Reich. Hitler had an affinity to Bruckner due to their Austrian lineage and the regime gave Bruckner's music a prominent place in the concert hall and on the radio. These recordings show how the radio was fully engaged in exploring his lesser known works, including the early Orchestral Pieces and the sketches Bruckner left for the Ninth Symphony - including the discarded trio to the Scherzo and the fragment to the Finale.
