| | | Heinrich Glasmeier | During the Second World War, St Florian was under the direct control of the Nazi Party. At that time, Heinrich Glasmeier, the head of the Reich Radio, was stationed there. On April 2nd, Glasmeier held a wreath laying ceremony at Bruckner's sarcaphacus. He was accompanied by torch-bearing uniformed SS soldiers. During the ceremony, he vowed allegiance to Adolf Hitler. On April 4th of 1942, Hitler came to St. Florian and while there spent some time in the crypt.
