Symphony No. 1 in C Minor

Symphony No. 1 in C Minor
This symphonies exists in several versions. There is the 1866 "First Performance" edition prepared by William Carragan, the 1877 "Linz Version" and the 1891 "Vienna Version." The Vienna Version is very close to the first published edition prepared in 1893 by Cyrill Hynais. The new Bruckner edition has just published a new score edited by Thomas Roeder. It is listed as the 1868 Linz Edition and may supersede the 1877 Linz Edition prepared by Leopold Nowak. Early editions of the Scherzo and Adagio of the Symphony No. 1 exist in manuscript and they have been edited for the Bruckner Edition in 1995 by Wolfgang Grandjean. Joan Schukking in the Netherlands has prepared computer audio files of these two scores.
