Unattributed: Essay on the Symphony No. 4These program notes were taken from the Capital Records LP set containing the Bruckner Symphony No. 4 with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra conducted by William Steinberg. They are included here for their historical nature but the reader should be warned that these notes follow the old Bruckner orthodoxy concerning the influence of his friends on the shape and orchestration of his scores.
